BG Matthew J. Lennox assumed duties as the Commanding General, Cyber National Mission Force in March 2026.
Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Deputy Commanding General of Joint Force Headquarters-Cyber (Army), U.S. Army Cyber Command.
BG Lennox earned his commission as a Field Artillery Officer in 1997. During his career he has served in key leadership positions from platoon leader to brigade commander. He has supported peacekeeping operations in Kosovo and participated in combat operations in Iraq.
His civilian education includes a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University, a master’s degree in Information Security Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and a master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War College.
BG Lennox’s personal awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, and Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
