FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Maryland – The United States Cyber Command’s Academic Engagement Network program is aiming at enhancing the command’s ability to address critical mission challenges, foster innovation, and engage with students and faculty.
The program works to inspire service in the DOD cyber cadre, both military and civilian, while ensuring the Cyber Mission Force collaborates with a diverse set of institutions.
Strategic Environment and Talent Development
In a rapidly evolving strategic environment, where mission advantages can erode swiftly, USCYBERCOM recognizes that its success hinges on its people. The AEN program serves as a vital avenue for talent development and innovation. By leveraging academic partnerships, the command aims to maintain a competitive edge in cyberspace.
CyberRecon: Student Research Mentoring
One of the key initiatives under AEN is CyberRecon, which encourages student research on Cyber Command’s mission challenges. The program involves sharing the command’s challenge problems for research consideration, providing technical mentorships by command experts, offering feedback on research projects, and culminates in a student research symposium.
The symposium will serve as a platform for select research teams to showcase their findings and contribute to the command’s long-term goals.
The AEN program underscores USCYBERCOM’s commitment to fostering innovation, recruiting top talent, and ensuring the nation’s cyber capabilities remain at the forefront.
