Command Sgt. Maj. Jesse F. Crawford II, U.S. Army

Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Jesse F. Crawford is a native of Cambria, Wisconsin, and enlisted into the Army in January 1998 and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia as an Infantryman (11B). In October 2007, CSM Crawford reclassified and became a Human Intelligence Collector (97E).

He has served in a variety of leadership positions from Rifle Team Leader to Brigade Command Sergeant Major.

His assignments include Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (AASLT), Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Republic of Korea; TANGO Security Force, Eighth United States Army, Republic of Korea; Bravo and HHC, 109th Military Intelligence Battalion, 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; Bravo Company, 524th Military Intelligence Battalion, 501st Military Intelligence Brigade, Camp Carroll, Republic of Korea; HHC, 501st Military Intelligence Brigade, Yongsan, Republic of Korea; G2, 25th Infantry Division; 715th Military Intelligence Battalion, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; 902d Military Intelligence Brigade, Fort Meade, Maryland; and the United States Army Counterintelligence Command, Fort Meade, Maryland. His overseas deployments include tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

CSM Crawford’s military education includes all levels of the NCOPDS including United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 65), Battalion and Brigade Command Sergeant Major Pre-Command Course, Military Intelligence Pre-Command Course, First Sergeant Course, Basic Instructor Course, Master Resiliency Trainer Course, Battle Staff, Combatives Levels 1 & 2, Equal Opportunity Leader Course and Air Assault School. His civilian education includes an Associate in Intelligence Operations from Cochise College, Arizona, a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Excelsior College, New York, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from the University of Texas at El Paso.

CSM Crawford’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (5OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal (7OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (8th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Bronze Stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (with Numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (with Numeral 5), NATO Medal, Air Assault Badge, Drivers Badge, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Army Meritorious Unit Citation, and Army Superior Unit Award. Additionally, CSM Crawford is a recipient of the LTC Thomas Knowlton Award.

CSM Crawford is married to his wife Kyungmi (Kay) and they have two sons Tyler (16) and Connor (8).
