USCYBERCOM MOMENTS
Law student completes USCYBERCOM's Student Volunteer Program Pilot
Mari Dugas receives a letter of appreciation from Gen. Paul Nakasone, Commander, U.S. Cyber Command, after completing the Student Volunteer Program (SVP) at USCYBERCOM. SVP is a new USCYBERCOM pilot talent initiative program for current graduate-level collegiate students. The SVP is designed to provide current students with an experiential project at USCYBERCOM as a voluntary unpaid intern for one semester (with an option to extend up to one academic year). Student volunteers offer specialized expertise or skillsets bringing project-specific talent to the USCYBERCOM formation while receiving vital professional experience and collegiate credit. The SVP was piloted in the Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) office from September 2021 to May 2022. Dugas was the command's first-ever student volunteer. She completed the program during her third year at New York University School of Law.
